Venus and Astrology

Hello Stargazers!

How glorious the last two weeks were … US and Canadian astronauts, not only circling the Earth but going to the dark side of the Moon for the first time in 54 years … yikes! I remember where I was in the early 1970s, when the great feat occurred, and our astronauts walked on the Moon!  All aspects of this launch and exploration were just as magical and unbelievable as the first time with John Glenn and Friendship 7.

Now onto the influence of Venus on Astrology.

In astrology, Venus is the planet of love, beauty, and harmony as it governs our relationships, personal values, aesthetic traits and how we experience pleasure. As a ‘benefic’ planet, its influence is generally considered auspicious and favorable, often bringing joy and material comfort. Venus is known as the Lesser Benefic – which brings luck in smaller, everyday ways through love, social grace, comfort, art and immediate pleasure. Venus acquired this distinction due to its size and duration of passage through the Zodiac; whereas Jupiter is the Greater Benefic based on its size (larger), speed (slower), and length of time (longer) traveling through the signs.

Venus’ core astrological meanings dictate your love language, seduction style, and what you seek in a partner. It also represents what you value most in life and how you perceive your own worthiness to receive love and abundance. Your relationships with finances, luxury and material possessions are also influenced by Venus.

Let’s look at Venus’ influence on the signs of the Zodiac.

Venus in the Fire Signs (The Passionate):

Venus in Aries: love is a thrill and a chase; bold, impulsive, and direct; you value independence and need excitement to stay interested.

Venus in Leo: love is a grand performance; warm, loyal, and craving adoration; you value romance, luxury and being proud of your partner.

Venus in Sagittarius: love is an adventure; you value freedom, honesty and shared experiences; you’re attracted to people who expand their horizons or come from different cultures.

Venus in Earth Signs (The Sensual):

Venus in Taurus: love is physical and stable; you value comfort, touch and material security; you’re deeply loyal but can be possessive and slow to change.

Venus in Virgo: love is an act of service; showing affection by being helpful and paying attention to small details; you value practicality, health and intellectual alignment.

Venus in Capricorn: love is a commitment; reserved and cautious; you value status, respect and long-term goals.

Venus in the Air Signs (The Intellectual):

Venus in Gemini: love is a conversation; playful, curious, and with the need for constant mental stimulation; you value variety and often flirt through wit and humor.

Venus in Libra: love is a partnership; you strive for balance, harmony, and fairness in relationships, with a strong need for companionship.

Venus in Aquarius: love is a friendship; unconventional; you value their space; and are attracted to unique individuals.

Venus in the Water Signs (The Emotional):

Venus in Cancer: love is a sanctuary; nurturing, protective, and deeply sensitive; you value emotional security, family, and a cozy home life.

Venus in Scorpio: love is an obsession; seeking deep, soul-level intimacy and total loyalty; with you, love is intense, private, all or nothing; raw honesty.

Venus in Pisces: love is compassion; you see the beauty in everyone and love unconditionally; wanting a soulmate connection. Venus is exalted in this sign – meaning it functions at its highest potential.

Venus’ impact in astrology is categorized by its role as a ‘personal planet;’ meaning its influence is felt in your day-to-day life and internal world. While often associated with romance, its true impact is felt in your values, finances, self-worth, and artistic vision.
