Welcome Stargazers

The month of September, with the final two eclipses of the year, will bring a theme of change and transformation. It could be a bumpy ride – so buckle up!

I’ve become intrigued by the first of the two eclipses for September – the Blood Corn Moon. This special celestial event will occur on September 7, 2025, when a total Lunar eclipse, commonly known as a Blood Moon due to the reddish hue the moon takes on, coincides with the September Full Moon, which is the Corn Moon.

This incredible event may enhance heightened emotions, deep transformation and the releasing of emotional baggage: Just Let It Go.

A Blood Moon is not a time for new beginnings but for endings and closure. This allows a more genuine self to emerge. Our ancestors often viewed the Blood Moon as something to be feared, and this came in the form of wolves, dragons, and jaguars attacking or chasing the moon.  These ancients would chant or sing to heal the moon.

The Corn Moon, on the other hand, is associated with harvest and gratitude. It is more grounded and comes from Native American tradition, where the moon marks the beginning of the corn harvest. The focus is on being grateful for crops harvested throughout the year. The shift from summer to fall is part of the celebration as well as the preparation for the coming winter.

The Blood Moon suggests the possibility of chaotic and game-changing endings. But the Corn Moon provides the framework for this unleashed chaos and binds it to the natural harvest cycle – preparing for a new phase of life.

Our introduction and initial understanding of the Blood Corn Moon comes to us through many generations of ancients. We’re starting to appreciate their unique insights into the celestial world.

Take a moment this month to look up and watch the night sky and observe the grand theatre of the stars.

Happy stargazing until next time.

Yours in the Stars,

Astrid
