Hell with the lid off

First of all, allow me to wish you and yours a very happy year ahead – and then to keep the headline for this blog in mind through 2026. Not as a prediction of doom, but as a warning beacon for the many tumultuous paths ahead.

The USA will be 250 years old this coming year. And to me, one of the most significant planetary changes is that of Pluto returning to the house and sign it occupied when the forefathers gathered to implement the documents for a new country in the world.

Yes, Pluto. In Aquarius. Planet and House together forcing a panoramic view and a microscopic view of issues and challenges around endings and beginnings, death and birth, extremes of power and control. Of course, dear readers, you aren’t truly surprised or shocked to recall that, oddly enough, Pluto entered Aquarius as a long-term denizen in January 2025. Hmm. What could that possibly portend? Inauguration of America’s very first dictator? The absolute rule of authoritarianism? Or a deep dive into the same energy with which Adolph, Benito and yes, Uncle Joe were more than endowed? But I digress.

Pluto has returned to the Financial House of the United States and we see people in power completely absorbed in only one thing: money, money, money. The odd thing about being an oligarch is that no matter how much an oligarch has, it’s never enough. The upper 1% appear to not be satisfied with anything less than starvation, death from treatable causes, homelessness for all, deportation of anyone a person in power dislikes, and a complete collapse of society as we’ve known it for two and a half centuries. Or, not to put too fine a point on it, simple extermination of the 99%. Serfdom appears imminent.

BUT – we do not despair. The Universe always corrects a course which is harmful to the greater good for the hoggish benefit of the few. And Karma is the sergeant-at-arms for retribution. Hold on.

With retrograde Saturn in Pisces, a major focus in January and February is going to be on the entire health system. The restrictions, the lack of a cohesive system, the horrible toll on a people unable to afford medical care when needed – and a tremendous administrative effort to control the media when it wakes up and starts reporting the staggering profits made by health insurance companies, pharmaceutical conglomerates, and the entire medical profession. That effort will come to naught. Headlines will scream the latest scandal, the nursing no-care homes, the overcharges at every level until finally the people have had enough. Many of the negative experiences will involve either each voter personally or within their families. (Oddly enough, you have to wonder whether anyone in Congress ever follows astrological forecasts – because the next two months are going to be a bloody battlefield over healthcare in this nation. The ‘do nothing’ stance apparently of so many of our elected officials is going to be questioned and discussed to the boiling point.) There will have to be some sort of reasonable, multi-faceted solution to a ‘problem’ which resembles a pit of vipers.

Then in February, this oddly paired planetary pair re-enter Aries, the Fourth house for the natal chart of the United States. Then the emphasis will be on real estate, home, and the possession of the same. But this aspect won’t be as fleeting as the previously mentioned ones, for Neptune will remain in Aries for the next 28 years, approximately, while Saturn stays for only 10% of that time period. Expect changes in this area too, with the chance of solutions for the homeless at last being brought forth.

Don’t just fasten your seat belt, ducks, but make sure it’s the extra-secure type that race car drivers use. Stay vigilant. Take extra good care of yourself, mentally, physically, emotionally. Do not soak in the negative news cycles which are trying to keep all of us from even seeing the horizon, let alone ideas and solutions. Enjoy simple things. If you can, refrain from any large purchases this year which would put a smile on the faces of the 1% to upper 10%. Our wallets are a powerful weapon, and the quickest way to ‘get the ear’ of billionaires who panic when sales drop, is to keep money in our pockets. Get out and meet your neighbors and the people in your immediate area, for even the mega-cities have small, intricate communities. Try to keep everyone calm, fed and warm this winter. Share what you can.

There will be a dawn of a New America. It’ll be a place where all of us are welcome, where we live in decent housing, feed the kids good nutritious food, get the grands to healthcare when they need it and establish a better political system where our votes truly matter. It’s a huge task. It’s a huge country, too, with multiple problem-solvers and new thinkers right in our own neighborhoods. We’ll hold up our heads again. We’ll sift out the dross, defeat the evil and become the best we all can be. Peace.
