That eclipse thing

Nothing as dramatic as the above picture will happen tomorrow, but we do have a Full Moon in Pisces with a partial eclipse occurring, and it will affect Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius primarily.

Now, my students will immediately recognize that those signs are opposite one another [Pisces, Virgo/Gemini, Sagittarius] and in square [Gemini to Virgo and Pisces; Sagittarius to Virgo and Pisces]. So what does this astrological mumbo-jumbo mean?

To put it succinctly, if your Natal Sign is any of those four, you would be well advised to keep a tight hold on your temper, your money and your impetuous self. This is not the time to run away with the door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman (do they even exist any more?), escalate the fight with the landlord, or punch out your ex.

Moon in Pisces tends to make people quite sensitive, especially to criticism or slight (deliberate or not), whether in romantic or other relationships. Best not to say anything, as your mother always advised, unless you can say something nice about someone. Then make your excuses and leave the room as quickly as possible. Avoid confrontations, quarrels, nit-picking sessions or neighborhood gossip. Keep a wary eye out for the HOA (Home Owners Association) or any other acronym involved in your life at the present time. (We’ll hope the involvement doesn’t extend to the acronyms FBI, CIA etc. )

Watch the Virgo tendency to find fault with large or small things; don’t point out the crack in the cherished vase a beloved aunt left her favorite niece or nephew. Try to say positive things about whatever topic is under discussion, whether at work or the bowling alley. Your watchword for the day should be along the lines of ‘placid,’ replying but not responding with any great show of emotion, and staying calm to carry on.

The Gemini Twins may present you with two options for an action you’ve been contemplating; see if you can delay choosing until Wednesday or even Thursday so your perspective is a little more normal and not so skewed. Listen to your intuition if it’s been reliable in the past; if not, then try to stay with a little Vulcan logic to get you through the day and its situations.

Sagittarius is known for being blunt, so think a few seconds before you blurt out something that may cause damage to a friend’s faith in you, or a change of plans that isn’t at all what you intended being thrown into the mix without regard for finances or available time. Figure a friendship that’s worth saving can weather a minor storm or two without causing permanent scars or resentments.

If all else fails, blame the stars and planets. And spend the day with a box of doughnuts and a racy novel. – MZ
