Saturn & Neptune conjunct

At least within one degree and some-odd minutes of a perfect conjunction in Aries – and in my book, that’s good enough. (What book, you ask? How about ‘Tetrabiblos’ by Ptolemy?)

Now, students and curious readers, you’ll recall that Saturn is often called ‘The Taskmaster’ and seen as quite an old grouch, heaping responsibilities upon each of us as we’re staggering under a heavy load already. Neptune is seen as a dreamer, a planet drifting in a cosmic ocean of imaginary realms and letting chores and distasteful tasks or relationships just melt away.

So what happens when they’re elbowing each other for center stage in the sky? Well, you can use the scales of justice as a comparison, or a teeter-totter if you prefer. In other words, it’s going to be a life of continually balancing the everyday with the creative; the ‘duty calls’ attitude with the ‘where’s the party?’ for the next three years until Saturn leaves Aries and enters Taurus April 14, 2028.

Prepare yourself for some hesitancy when you undertake a new project, (whether at home or career), with your best course being to thoroughly research what’s needed for supplies, money and time to complete your desired outcome. Don’t be too hard on yourself when you have everything planned out on Tuesday, can’t get to the hardware store on Thursday, or wind up stacking your entire office in order to move the desk Friday morning. Creative solutions aren’t built in a day.

Minor items on your To Do list should be dealt with in minutes. Bigger ideas will need a little time to get started and especially to get finished. But your true objective is to have the final result one that you’re happy with – and if your partner doesn’t like ecru sheers with eggplant drapes – tough. They can do the next redecorating. They can also help you pack in three months because your dream job just appeared, courtesy of Neptune, and you’re off to Scotland to work remotely for a firm in the USA. Said partner is dumbfounded, and may not want to go along to Aberdeen just in time for winter.

But it’ll all come out in the wash. (And if each and every one of the pleats in your kilt aren’t carefully stitched, they’ll come out too. ) The two of you can work things out. I have every confidence in your ability to arbitrate. You’ll simply have to learn to be more adaptable, more responsible and do more imaginative problem-solving than ever before, to survive these two planets as they become conjunct again, or separate, then pass the other and hey presto! a retrograde begins.

So save a little more money, agree to one spontaneous idea each week and call your mother regularly. Remember the planets’ transits are said to mirror humans and their lives on earth. Allow yourself to be more fully human, and enjoy the ride.

Every square is said to be a learning experience and every favorable trine a wish come true. Wishing on a star – or a planet has been tradition for a long, long time. – MZ
