Three poems: The Handsome Beaver + Two Kitties on My Lap + The Bear

 THE HANDSOME BEAVER

 The handsome beaver
 Replaced the mean-looking raccoon,
 I retorted, warmly.
 This impressed them.
 I hated them horribly.
 TWO KITTIES ON MY LAP

Golden Boy the sweet kitty on my lap
 Is talking to birds.
 The other kitty,
The rabbit eared pencil neck weasel face kitty
Has been sniffing Golden Boy’s anus
For a length of time I consider inappropriate,
 If not unconscionable.
 THE BEAR

Native Americans propitiating the spirit of
The beautiful bear they killed, skinned, cut up and ate,
Talking all smarmy to the butchered animal’s skull.

 I’m a hairy beast myself.
Old, white as alder, ugly as sin,
At heart a hick, a cornball from jump.

They wouldn’t even talk to me.
 Too ugly, they’d say.
 Had it coming.
