Two poems: Upset Plans + It’s So Cool

 UPSET PLANS

 Hummingbirds served as pallbearers.
One tripped and they all fell.
The coffin exploded when it hit the ground

 Earning heaven’s scolding
 And flinging me back into
 “The despair of old age.”

 That’s what I say.
 The Lord has different intentions.
 It wasn’t my time.
 IT’S SO COOL

 I’m going to the lake.
 What lake?
 Heartsome Lake.

 Oh it’s so pretty.
 What the lake?
 No—well yeah, but

 This piece of merchandise.
 It’s so cool.
And I got it on sale.
